A small drone fighter, generally carried by bigger ships due to its low DeltaV. Very nimble, it is armed with two rapid fire 75mm guns...
(Inspired by a design by Phil Saunders)
Day 002 - Light Bomber
An old Kinetic Orbital Striker from the First Reclamation war. These were used as tactical strike platform when combat-capable ships were still rare. Recently, the few that are still functioning found a use as Landscaping tools...
Day 003 - Scout/Recon
A small spy drone deployed in large numbers to monitor ship movements. They fit in most standard missile tubes and can be launched in large numbers easily. Very cheap and also pretty stealthy...
Day 004 - Light Cargo
This one is a co-orbital tug, designed to carry small loads between stations orbiting the same planet. The shield is there to protect it from polluted orbits, or planets very close to their star...
Day 005 - Salvage Vessel
A compact and cheap workbee that tends to be found in orbital graveyards and polluted planetary orbits, salvaging whatever can be...
Day 006 - Fuel Tanker
Lenns-class Hypertankers are as rare a sight as they are large. These huge Fleet Tenders are not capable of CapJumps by themselves, being far too large for any drive assembly to survive the shock.
Instead they use purpose-built JumpShips for long range travels. The Rads help cool the very powerful support reactor, mainly used as a Capacitor charger for large fleets and also serve as a whipple shield in case the ship is attacked.
Day 007 - Repair Frigate
The Regenerative Coalition was an old Malaar-class missile frigate, refit as a fleet tug and a repair/support craft after sustaining debilitating damage to her CapDrive.
She was assigned to the support wing of the famed Time of Respite fleet Tender during the initial outbreak of the Agilean war.
Lost with all hands in action during the final days of the evacuation of Celara.
(Inspired by a design by space gooose)
Day 008 - Construction Ship
Mirys-type assembly tugs, working on patching up a debris impact on the engine pods of the Regenerative Coalition as it operates in the polluted Celaran low orbit...
Day 009 - Asymmetric Ship
The Deleh-class tug is a peculiar design, basically a very powerful gimballed engine welded to a big clamp.
These were initially designed as space station movers, and have thus greatly influenced the design of Lenns-class Hypertankers.
Day 010 - Missiles/Torpedoes
That sure is a Torpedo...
(Inspired by a design from The Expanse)
Day 011 - Stealth Ship
The lead ship for the Aegis class, served as a testbed for a lot of experimental tech. These, while initially not designed as Stealth ships, when refit correctly, were sneaky enough to pass as freighters to unwanted attention...
Day 012 - Racing/Touring
These days, the Naaco has become a common sight around the racing spots of the Blue Belt systems.
This modified CC8 Nova leisure cruiser has proven time and time again that the hegemony of smaller ships on sublight races can, and should, be challenged...
Day 013 - Escape Pod
This pod was recovered by the Regenerative Coalition during a routine patrol CapJump to the Outer Cloud of the Relees system. It had been drifting for years, still holding on to its very small RTG, its 12 occupants long dead.
Day 014 - Mining Ship
While not as fancy as the Blue Belt, nor as rich, the systems on the edge of the Vaudahn Rift are still quite famed for their mining colonies, which this old Selis 3 Fusion Mover, refit as an asteroid prospector, is returning to...
Day 015 - Creative Freedom 1
A Combat-ready Aegis-class Cruiser. These beauties were generally considered to be some of the best combat ship designs ever launched, with very good manoeuvrability for their size, impressive firepower, and great flexibility
This one is the ICS Aurora, the 15th of these ships ever built, and one with a long history, having served through the second Reclamation War, helped during the Evacuation of Celara, and fought bravely through the Agilean War.
Day 016 - Organic Ship
Belenns are seed pods of a sea plant genus from the Malios system. They use surface geysers and a small water pouch to jump into space to seed other moons, thus being a PITA and sometimes a legit danger for local orbital traffic...
Day 017 - Dropship
Iraast-class "warshields" were initially a military design, dating back to the 2nd Reclamation War. The many that survived the conflict are now used mainly for atmospheric cargo delivery, as they are a lot cheaper to field than landers
Day 018 - Starliner/Tourism
CC8 Nova "Leisure Cruisers" are not very common, but always a celebrated sight. These expensive luxury ships are generally operated by the Ultra Rich as Pleasure Yachts, or as Luxury tourism cruise ships.
Day 019 - Drone/AI
The 7th Support fleet (the battlegroup of the Time of Respite Hypertanker and an the ICS Aurora, an Aegis-class Cruiser) operating a fast scatter manoeuvre and deploying a drone screen as hostile ships enter their SOO...
Day 020 - Exploration
A Reefle-type exploration vessel near a cold star. These old ships, the first to be equipped with CapDrives, aren't very liked by crews, being very uncomfortable for the long cruises they undertake through the Uncharted regions...
Day 021 - Gunship
Kot-class Gunships are pretty common in the core worlds, being the military definition of "Old but Gold". These serve mostly as Orbital Defense, Police vessels and Recon, due mostly to their good DeltaV and very Fast charging CapDrives.
Day 022 - Bulk Freighter
One of the many ships hastily cobbled together by civilian authorities during the Evacuation of Celara. It is far too large to use a CapDrive, so had to rely on STL travel to get to safety. Thankfully, it's automated, mostly.
Day 023 - Heavy Bomber
The only clear image of one of the ships that bombed Celara before the start of the Agilean war. Those ships, whose origin remain uncertain, didn't have any visible engines, seeming to teleport around, dropping nukes with each jump
Day 024 - Shuttle / Transportation
A small aerospike atmospheric Shuttle used in higher population worlds. Can reenter, land and get back to Orbit in 30 minutes, with a full refuel on the ground...
Day 025 - Fleet Carrier
A MusS-class Drone Carrier deploying a patrol. These ships are generally used as recon and patrol craft, mainly because of their very good speed, and quite modern Capacitive Drive assembly...
Day 026 - Colony Ship
A very old Colony ship, more or less a museum piece dating back to the settling of Phase 2 space, being used as a makeshift evacuation vessel, while defended from the unidentified ships attacking the planet by an Aegis-class Cruiser
Day 027 - Battleship
The ICS Remus, one of the three existing Artemis-class Battleships. These border on what is practical for space warfare, being so heavy they're barely able to power the Capacitors of their Capdrives enough for a jump by themselves.
Day 028 - Station
The 7th Support fleet regrouping at Erinnas, in low Celaran orbit, to defend the spaceport. At this point in the attack, the evac had been going for 7 days, and while 4 fleets were lost, some 70% of the population had made it off system
Day 029 - Junk Ship
A gunship intercepted that "civilian" freighter for an inspection. What they found, apart from the standard smuggled stuff, were a large amount of weapon and ship parts visibly scavenged from the forbidden Celaran wreck fields...
Day 030 - Creative Freedom 2
Final day !
For this one I remade a very old ship of mine, actually one of the first ships I ever modelled...
(Design by RJB/Mallacore)
And a final Fleetshot to end it all...
Had the pleasure of participating in this year's Spaceshiptember, planned and organised by @VelocityCatte on Twitter...
Was pretty harsh doing a full ship a day while live working (most of those were done in less than 4 hours, design, modeling, texturing, rendering and compositing included), but insanely fun. Even added some small lorebits to most of them, because why not ?
